About the Role
As our Digital Workplace Endpoint Engineer, you will be at the heart of defining which endpoint devices are approved, supported and deployed across our global environment. From laptops and desktops to peripherals, docking stations and collaboration hardware — you will ensure every device in our portfolio is secure, reliable, sustainable and truly fit for the way people work today and in the future.

Responsibilities
- Lead the hardware certification lifecycle for endpoint devices including laptops, desktops, peripherals, docking stations and selected workplace collaboration hardware
- Validate drivers, firmware, BIOS/UEFI settings and operating system compatibility to ensure device stability, security and supportability across the enterprise environment
- Design and execute integration, compatibility and user experience testing across platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager, Windows Autopilot and Microsoft Entra ID
- Maintain and evolve the approved hardware catalogue, ensuring standards remain scalable, secure, cost-effective and aligned with business and workplace needs
- Collaborate with OEMs, technology suppliers and internal teams to manage certification requirements, review product roadmaps, resolve technical issues and assess emerging technologies
- Support hardware lifecycle planning by tracking market trends, vendor roadmaps, device availability, sustainability considerations and evolving workplace requirements Use endpoint analytics, incident trends and operational feedback to assess device reliability, performance and user experience
- Identify opportunities to automate testing, validation, reporting and documentation to improve consistency and reduce manual effort
- Partner with IT operations, security, procurement, workplace services and business stakeholders to ensure hardware standards are practical, supportable and aligned with organisational goals
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Proven experience evaluating, testing, certifying or supporting enterprise endpoint hardware such as laptops, desktops, peripherals, docking stations or collaboration devices
- Strong knowledge of device drivers, firmware, BIOS/UEFI configuration, operating system compatibility and hardware lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with modern endpoint management and deployment platforms, ideally including Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager, Windows Autopilot and Microsoft Entra ID
- A structured approach to testing, troubleshooting, documentation and technical decisionmaking, with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable standards
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, security, procurement, vendor and business stakeholder communities
Your Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, it would be helpful to bring practical awareness or experience in the following areas:
- Automation or scripting using tools such as PowerShell, Python or similar to streamline testing, reporting or validation activities
- Endpoint analytics, Power BI, Excel or other reporting tools to assess device performance, reliability trends, user experience or total cost of ownership
- Modern endpoint security concepts such as Secure Boot, TPM, BitLocker, Microsoft Defender, firmware security or hardware vulnerability management
- Sustainability, circular IT, accessibility, ergonomics or environmental certifications such as EPEAT, Energy Star or TCO Certified
- Working with OEMs, hardware vendors or technology suppliers on product evaluations, technical issues, roadmap discussions or certification requirements
- Microsoft 365, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, VDI or cloud-managed endpoint architectures
- Cross-functional initiatives involving IT operations, engineering, procurement, security, workplace services or business stakeholders
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the curiosity to explore new technologies and the discipline to ensure solutions are stable, secure and supportable at scale
