About the Role
Build the APIs for our client's global platform for managing risk exposure. Underwriters, catastrophe modellers and reporting teams around the world rely on this platform to see where Zurich's biggest risks are. You'll help modernise it and build its next generation on Azure. You'll join our growing Bratislava team.
Your work has real impact. It helps our client understand its exposure to natural catastrophes and other major risks.
You'll use a modern technology stack. Current .NET, Azure and APIs that handle large amounts of data.
You'll learn a specialist field. Exposure management and catastrophe modelling, learned from experts.
Responsibilities
-Design, build and run .NET RESTful APIs that serve risk data to underwriting, modelling and reporting teams.
-Modernise a business-critical platform and help design and build the cloud-native platform that replaces it on Azure.
-Connect services to data platforms, relational and spatial databases, and messaging systems.
-Keep quality high through automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD and monitoring.
-Work closely with architects, product owners, data engineers and business experts.
Requirements
-5+ years of hands-on software engineering, including building applications from scratch
-Strong skills in modern .NET and experience building RESTful APIs in production
-Entity Framework and strong SQL Server / T-SQL skills, including performance tuning
-Asynchronous programming and performance optimisation in .NET
-Azure PaaS (App Services, Functions) and Azure DevOps CI/CD
-Automated testing and clean, maintainable code
-Agentic AI supported software development
-Fluent English
Nice to Have Skills
-Experience with large-scale data platforms or spatial data
-Event-driven architecture and messaging (for example Azure Service Bus)
-Domain-driven design or clean architecture
-Insurance or financial services knowledge, especially exposure management or catastrophe modelling
