About the Role
As a Lead Data Architect, you will shape end-to-end data architecture across a broad business and application landscape. You will work with stakeholders across business and IT to translate complex requirements into logical data models, data flows and architecture designs that support operational processes, integrations, analytics and AI-driven use cases.
You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and application engineering teams on all data architecture-related topics. In doing so, you will help ensure that data is structured, governed and managed in a consistent way across systems, enabling trusted, reusable and well-controlled data assets across the organisation.
This role is suitable for candidates of all genders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across boundaries – partner with P&C business and IT teams, as well as the broader organisation, to translate business requirements into clear, actionable data architecture designs.
- Design with purpose – create logical data models and end-to-end data flows that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs across operational and analytical environments.
- Lead and enable – guide engineers and delivery teams in implementing physical data models, data flows, and data access controls, fostering a culture of architectural excellence.
- Empower through clarity – own and evolve key data architecture artefacts, including data models, shared definitions, lineage-related documentation, and other design assets that enable consistent use of data across systems and domains.
- Embrace innovation – leverage AI tools and techniques within the data architecture function to drive efficiency and unlock new possibilities.
- Ensure compliance and trust – uphold alignment with data governance standards and security requirements, ensuring data is managed as a trusted, high-quality asset.
Requirements
- Strong data modelling expertise – proven experience with both 3NF and dimensional modelling approaches, with the ability to design models that support operational, integration and analytical use cases.
- Data architecture experience – working knowledge of data architecture patterns that support operational systems, application integration and data analytics solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Data management proficiency – practical experience applying data management practices such as data sourcing, data profiling, data transformation, data quality management, master/reference data management, data cataloguing, lifecycle management and access management across a range of business and technology use cases.
- Architectural leadership – demonstrated experience providing architectural guidance to engineering and delivery teams, translating strategy into implementable data architecture outcomes.
- Communication and stakeholder management – strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with multicultural, globally distributed teams and translate business needs into well-structured data-centric solutions.
- Industry knowledge – considered a nice-to-have, ideally in Property & Casualty domain, with an understanding of how data supports risk assessment and decision-making across the end-to-end value chain.
