About the Role
For our client we are looking for a Data Engineer who will be participating on client´s Data Cloud platform.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the setup and operation of a Data Cloud platform in alignment with various internal stakeholders.
- You will contribute to the solution architecture and development of Data Cloud
- You will ensure smooth deployment/operation of the cloud production system
- You will develop and implement data flows (e.g. ETL, CDC, and streaming data) data views (SQL) and support operation (3rd level)
- You will engineer and automate cloud environments for security, reliability, monitoring and scale
- You will pro-actively identify and implement improvements to maintain optimal system performance
Requirements
- You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- You have several years of experience in database management with various platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Oracle, SQL) and programming languages (e.g. SQL, PL SQL)
- You have experience ingesting structured and unstructured data (e.g. SAP SLT, Matillion, Confluent Kafka) into a data warehouse
- You are a motivated self-starter with a desire to learn new technologies
- You are results-driven with the ability to initiate positive changes in a controlled environment
- You can handle multiple parallel tasks by shifting priorities to meet deadlines
- You closely liaise with project managers and development team members to understand technical requirements and to develop solutions accordingly
- You are a team player, with demonstrated influencing and relationship building skills with clients, partners, and people with various backgrounds and cultures
- You have excellent communication skills in English and the ability to interact with project managers and your international team in a virtual environment
Nice to Have Skills
- You have experience as a software developer or DevOps engineer in analytics environments, in infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (e.g. shell, Ruby, PowerShell) and you have knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python, C#, Java)
- You have experience with analytical cloud services (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and have worked in cross-functional teams
- You have practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a cloud or virtualized environment
