About the Role

In this role you will support a unit responsible for the maintenance, enhancement and rollout of our Group Retro Platform (GRP) for Property & Casualty and Life & Health business. Group Retro Platform (GRP) for Property & Casualty and Life & Health business is the common platform that supports the financial and actuarial administration of Intra Group Retro cessions (IGRs) and some external retro cessions worldwide. You will be part of a team that has members in Zurich and Bratislava with significant interaction with Zurich, US, UK, India and Bratislava finance & IT colleagues. You will work in projects but also support production. 


Business analysis of new requirements for new IT implementations and change request for existing IT-solutions 
•    Gather, discuss and analyse the requirements for new attributes, interfaces or functions in close cooperation with business experts and IT
•    Translate requirements into system specifications, covering all aspects of the new solution 
•    Work closely with the programmers in the realisation phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
•    Perform and document interface and application tests
•    Document the solution, both for internal and external use 
•    Manage assigned sub-task in above-mentioned fields independently
•    Perform system testing in regular UAT cycles

Business support and production control
•    Monitoring and maintenance of interfaces, including error handling.
•    Error handling includes analysis, solution proposals and correction processes
•    Perform and coordinate data clean ups and migrations
•    Perform database updates and enhancement (mappings, functions, interfaces)
•    Perform System reconciliation and data quality checks
•    Support the quarterly closing by executing special processes
•    Provide consultancy to business users


•    University degree in business administration with specialization in information technology or equivalent 
•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Good command of English
•    Very good knowledge of MS Office 
•    Knowledge of SQL is a strong asset for this position
•    Knowledge of Jira and Confluence would be an asset
•    Experience as a business analyst would be an asset
•    Experience in insurance/reinsurance would be an asset
•    Previous knowledge in technical or financial accounting would be an asset
•    Good communication skills
•    Flexible and open for new tasks, willing to learn permanently
•    Self starter, independent and responsive in character and work
•    Stamina and the drive to get things done
•    Excellent team player attributes combined with a proactive approach and a 'can do' attitude
